Columbus Chill 16U National Capture NAR Motor City Classic AAA Championship in Detroit
The Columbus Chill 16U National team skated away with the NAR Motor City Classic AAA championship this past weekend in Detroit, MI, capping off an exciting and successful tournament run.
The Chill opened the weekend with a dramatic win over a strong MHA Royal AAA team, scoring the game-winning goal in the final minute of regulation to set the tone for the tournament. They followed with a disappointing 3-3 tie against the Cleveland Wildcats AAA, a result that fueled the team’s determination heading into the rest of the weekend.
Bouncing back with confidence, the Chill delivered a convincing 5-2 victory over MHA Navy, punching their ticket to the championship game. In the final, the Chill left no doubt, dominating from start to finish and earning 8-1 revenge over Cleveland Wildcats to capture the tournament title.
The championship marks another highlight for the Chill 16U National squad as they look to continue building momentum as a team with upcoming games against Team Ohio, followed by a final tournament in Detroit, October 17–19, before heading into the Mid-Am State Playoffs, October 24–26.
