Team Philadelphia Wins I-270 Cup in Thrilling Fashion at Chill Summer Development Program
The 2025 Chill Summer Development Program came to a thrilling conclusion as Team Philadelphia, led by standout goaltender Dylan Bell, captured the coveted I-270 Cup in dramatic fashion.
After several heartbreaking losses in past finals, Bell finally hoisted the Cup, backstopping Philadelphia to a gritty, come-from-behind championship victory. Entering the tournament as the #2 seed, Philadelphia was stunned early by #10 seed Team Boston, dropping into the loser’s bracket and setting the stage for a long, determined road to redemption.
The tournament, filled with upsets, saw top-seeded Minnesota and #4 seed Los Angeles both fall to the #9 seed Team Columbus, setting up a championship clash between the underdogs.
Philadelphia marched through the loser’s bracket, knocking out Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and Nashville to earn the trip with Columbus to the finals.
Needing to beat Columbus twice to take the title, Philadelphia responded with resilience. In the first game, Columbus jumped out to a quick two goal lead, but Philadelphia battled back. In overtime, St. Charles's Jack Goodwin found himself alone in front and buried the game-winner to force a decisive second game.
The championship finale echoed the first with another early 2-0 lead by Columbus and another hard-fought comeback from Philadelphia. With both Bell and Columbus goalie Alex Lyon turning aside scoring chances in overtime, the deadlock was finally broken when St. Charles defenseman Sachon Cortland sent a cross-ice feed to Liberty forward Sam Saheli, who buried it top right corner to seal the win.
This year's I-270 Cup delivered great competition and many unforgettable moments. Congrats Team Philadelphia & Goalie Dylan Bell!
